The prominent ear appearance occurs due to the fact that the ear is more separate from the skull or the folds in its structure are straight.
Since ear development is completed at the age of 6-7, this surgery can be performed after primary school years.
This deformity is corrected with a procedure of approximately 40 minutes under local or general anesthesia. After the incision made behind the ear, shaping is made between the cartilages and between the ear and the skull, and correction is provided.
Elastic bandage should be used for 2 weeks after the surgery.
